We're off! It's Torino who get us underway.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of today’s Serie A game between Torino and Juventus at the Stadio Grande Torino.
It’s derby day in Turin, where a much-improved, in-form Torino side will be taking on their illustrious neighbours in what promises to be a fascinating clash. The hosts have lost just once in their last 10 Serie A games and sit in sixth place, but their rivals are yet to lose in the league this season and already sit eight points clear at the top of the table.
Torino are continuing to grow under Walter Mazzarri, and they’ll certainly be feeling confident about their chances of picking up a rare derby victory tonight. On only one occasion in their last 26 meetings with Juventus have they beaten them, with that win back in 2015 being their one and only since 1995.
No matter how well Torino are playing at the moment, it’s going to take something very special to get the better of a Juventus side that are so strong domestically. The Bianconeri are far from unbeatable, though, as Young Boys showed during the week. However, they’ve won each of their last seven Serie A games, with only Genoa managing to hold them to a draw this campaign.
A comfortable victory against Fiorentina two weeks ago means Juventus are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues yet to lose away from home in 2018, and the odds are in their favour this evening. They’ve won on each of their last three visits to the Stadio Grande Torino and have conceded just one goal against their local rivals since December 2016, scoring seven during that time.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Juventus substitutes: Wojciech Szczesny, Medhi Benatia, Douglas Costa, Moise Kean, Carlo Pinsoglio, Daniele Rugani, Federico Bernardeschi, Leonardo Spinazzola.
Juventus XI (4-3-3): Mattia Perin; Mattia De Sciglio, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Emre Can, Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matuidi; Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Torino substitutes: Salvador Ichazo, Lyanco, Roberto Soriano, Sasa Lukic, Vitalie Damascan, Simone Edera, Alex Berenguer, Emiliano Moretti, Antonio Rosati, Vittorio Parigini, Lorenzo De Silvestri, Bremer.
Torino XI (3-5-2): Salvatore Sirigu; Nicolas N’Koulou, Koffi Djidji, Armando Izzo; Ola Aina, Daniele Baselli, Soualiho Meite, Tomas Rincon, Cristian Ansaldi; Simone Zaza, Andrea Belotti.
The two sides are making their way out on to the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off. The atmosphere inside the stadium is electric, with both sets of fans in fine voice.
It's been a real battle in Turin, where there's very little separating the two sides at the halfway stage. The hosts have played really well and are causing plenty of problems for their illustrious rivals, but as far as chances go it's Juventus who have created the best. If a goal is on its way, you feel the league leaders are going to score it.
Torino are pressing well in the middle of the pitch, and that's making it a frustrating evening for the visitors. They're also managing to find space out wide when breaking at pace, and that's something they'll try to exploit throughout the second half as they attempt to find a way in front.
Thanks for tuning into our live coverage tonight. Until next time, goodbye!
Juventus' win - their 15th of the campaign - means they now sit 11 points clear of Napoli at the top of the table heading into the Partenopei's meeting with Cagliari. They face a tough test at home to Roma next weekend, while Torino will be aiming to bounce back away to Sassuolo.
