Three minutes were initially added on at the end of the match, but the melee means that we will likely play another 60 seconds or so. Leipzig do not really look as though they have a goal in them.
90' +2
Renato Sanches gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Sanches gets involved in the aftermath of that Ilsanker challenge by shoving an opponent to the floor. Having already been cautioned, the Portugal winger is shown a second yellow and is off.
90' +1
S. Ilsanker goes off after a red card!
Ilsanker lunges in on Thiago with his studs showing and is shown a red card, maintaining Leipzig's record of having a player dismissed on all three visits to this ground.
90'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
Bayern are happy to eat up some valuable seconds by bringing on Martinez for Muller. That is now all six subs made.
88'
J. Augustin enters the game and replaces Y. Poulsen.
A second sub in quick succession for the visitors, as Augustin replaced Poulsen up top in a like-for-like switch.
87'
Matheus Cunha enters the game and replaces K. Laimer.
Having made a defensive change shortly before Bayern scored, Rangnick now brings on striker Cunha for midfielder Laimer.
83'
F. Ribéry has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by Renato Sanches.
GOOOOAAALLLL!! Bayern 1-0 Leipzig! The Bayern pressure finally tells as substitute Ribery fires the ball home for his second league goal of the season. Gulasci fails to keep hold of a weak Sanches shot and Upamecano's clearance deflects into the path of Ribery, who takes two players out of the game with his feigned shot and then picks his spot past Gulasci.
Sanches probably should have done better with his initial shot, but it turns into an assist of sorts as Gulasci failed to keep hold of it and Ribery was able to convert when the loose ball fell into his path.
81'
S. Ilsanker enters the game and replaces Bruma.
Ilsanker is brought on for Bruma in a defensive change for Leipzig. The visitors have been penned in over the last 15 minutes.
79'
Renato Sanches gets yellow.
SAVE! Bayern are really starting to knock on the door now, with Gulasci making his second big save of the match. Kimmich is picked out at the back post by Lewandowski and finds the target with his header, but Gulasci claws the ball off the line.
Sanches brings down Werner, halting the Leipzig striker's attack, and is rightly shown a yellow card.
Minute
Description
78'
BIG OPPORTUNITY! Gulasci made a good save to keep out Lewandowski in the first half, but he is almost guilty of gifting the hosts a breakthrough goal here. Under pressure from Lewandowski, the Leipzig keeper spills a simple cross but Sule volleys over the crossbar from five yards. It took a deflection on its way through.
77'
The champions are just starting to build some momentum now, with that chance for Muller their best of the second half. Leipzig are not offering a great deal in an attacking sense, seemingly happy to settle for a point.
75'
CHANCE! Alaba gets in behind down the left and manages to put the ball into the zone where Muller is standing in the middle of the box. Muller, who may have been marginally offside, gets a toe to the ball but cannot turn it goalwards.
73'
Bayern are continuing to knock the ball around, recording 467 passes across the first 73 minutes. It is what they do with the ball when in the final third, though, having created just one chance of note so far.
72'
Rangnick is holding off from making a change as we enter the final 18 minutes of what has been a well-poised match. Opposite number Kovac, who has seen his side win three league games on the spin this month, has one more sub available.
70'
It is looking increasingly likely that one goal will win this match. This is a fixture that Bayern have dominated in the last two campaigns - on home soil, at least - but they have struggled to get going today and have been canceled out by their opponents.
66'
WIDE! Alaba's cross is only half-cleared by the visitors and Sanches has a second to compose himself, but the substitute winger drives the ball inches wide of the target from just outside the box.
64'
K. Laimer gets yellow.
Ribery has taken a real battering out wide since coming on in the first half. Laimer's latest challenge on the Frenchman earns him a yellow card, his second of the season.
63'
Bruma goes on a powerful run through the middle of the pitch that ends with what seemed to be a shove from Kimmich on the edge of the Bayern box, but not in the eyes of the referee - Marco Fritz says play on.
61'
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces K. Coman.
Coman is the player to be taken off for Sanches in a like-for-like switch in the wide position. Ribery replaced the injured Gnabry on the other flank in the first half.
59'
No surprise to see Kovac make his second change of the contest, with Sanches about to come on. Bayern have been pretty poor in their final home game of 2018 and are in need of some inspiration from the bench.
57'
What a waste this is from Coman once played into space towards the right. The Frenchman is caught in two minds as he neither shoots nor crosses, instead drilling the ball right the way through the box when Lewandowski was waiting to be picked out in the middle.
56'
The flag is up against Lewandowski, who was not quick enough getting back up the field. Sanches is being readied to come on for the below-par hosts.
54'
Sule does very well to track the run of Leipzig striker Werner to the byline and take the ball off his opponent, while also winning a goal-kick for his side.
52'
Bayern are seeing even more of the ball than they did in the first half - it is now up to 64%, from 58% in the opening 45 minutes. Not that they are doing a great deal when in possession.
51'
Much like in the first half, the second period is taking a while to get going. Werner had that one attempt a couple of minutes ago, but that aside neither team has managed to put together any serious attacking moves.
49'
OVER! Werner turns on the edge of the box and gets a shot away, which was always rising over the crossbar. Neuer is happy to watch the ball sail above his head.
46'
Bayern get us back underway in Munich! No further changes made by either side at the break.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: BAYERN 0-0 LEIPZIG
44'
Werner is not walking too comfortably at the moment after being clattered into. Alaba picks up possession 25 yards from Leipzig's goal, but he is quickly dispossessed as another home attack comes to a frustrating conclusion.
43'
Hummels with a dreadful pass straight out of play. A few groans around the Allianz Arena as Bayern are not playing anywhere near the levels we have seen from them in recent weeks - far too many sloppy errors.
41'
Bayern have seen more of the ball than their opponents - 57% to 43% - but that does not quite tell the whole story. Leipzig will argue that they have edged things in the opening 41 minutes, although - as was the case on their previous two league visits to this ground - they have been unable to find the net.
39'
Both sides have now come close to opening the scoring in Munich, with Lewandowski and Upamecano hitting the frame of the goal at either end of the field. Bayern, who can move to within six points of leaders Dortmund with a win here, have still not really got out of second gear.
36'
A promising attack for the visitors, as Halstenberg finds himself in some space down the left-hand side. Despite having a few team-mates to aim for in the middle, though, he aims his cross right at Neuer at the front post.
34'
Ribery is being frustrated by a series of niggling fouls. Leipzig are standing pretty firm at the back, with a long ball intended for Goretzka easily cut out.
32'
Bruma manages to get a shot away, which is blocked in front of goal. Lewandowski's missed one-on-one aside, Leipzig have had the better of things at the Allianz Arena.
30'
Ribery's first involvement in the match is to be clattered by Klostermann. Hummels then takes out Werner close to the touchline in what is becoming a stop-start contest.
28'
F. Ribéry enters the game and replaces S. Gnabry.
Ribery, only just back from an injury of his own, takes over from Gnabry. The ex-Arsenal man was unable to shake off what appears to be a calf strain.
23'
ATTEMPT! A rare attempt on target, with Bruma's shot lacking both the power and precision to seriously trouble Neuer. Leipzig have arguably been the better side.
22'
Still just the one shot on target so far, which came via the boot of Laimer around 15 minutes ago and was easily dealt with by Neuer. Bayern's only attempt of any note was Hummels' header over the crossbar early on.
20'
Poulsen shows too much of the ball to Sule and the Leipzig attack breaks down. That pretty much sums up the way things have gone for both sides in the opening quarter of the contest.
16'
D. Demme gets yellow.
Thiago is too quick for Demme, who takes his opponent down to the ground with his mistimed challenge and earns the first yellow of the match.
15'
Yet another disappointing set-piece delivery in what has been a quiet opening 15 minutes to the match. Third against fourth in Bundesliga but very little goalmouth action thus far.
14'
Bayern move the ball well but a deep cross from the left is blocked before it arrives in the box. Muller goes one better by earning his side a corner, with Upamecano there to block it behind.
12'
Nothing comes of the Leipzig corner, but there is a scare for Bayern from the next attacking move. Poulsen gets in front of Kimmich and miscues his shot from a glorious position, though he dragged his opponent to the ground anyway so a free-kick is awarded.
10'
Kovac's men are yet to get a shot away and are no longer the side on top. Leipzig have done well to grow into the match following a slow start in the first five minutes, earning their first corner through Thiago's block.
8'
The visitors had managed to slow the tempo of the game, but Coman nearly pounces on a loose pass. Some good covering denies the wide forward a chance to race through.
6'
SHOT! Leipzig have been slow out of the blocks, but the first shot on target comes via a visiting player. Laimer takes range from 25 yards, sending a pretty weak attempt right down the middle for Neuer to keep out.
5'
Bayern have started he match on top. Another set-piece is sent into the box and Gulasci makes a real mess of it, but Goretzka can only bend the ball wide of the far post from a tight angle.
3'
A positive run from Gnabry, who has really hit form in recent weeks, leads to the first corner of the match. Kimmich swings it into the middle and Hummels guides it over the bar.
1'
Leipzig, aiming to stop Bayern from making it four league wins on the spin, get us underway!
Leipzig have stuttered somewhat, meanwhile, losing two and winning two of their last four outings, but victory today will see them climb above their third-placed opponents in the table. Those defeats came in back-to-back away outings, so boss Ralf Rangnick will be keen to get his side back on track with a positive result at the home of the champions.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. The reigning German champions have returned to form with three league wins on the spin in December, following a winless November, to leave themselves nine points adrift of leaders Borussia Dortmund - beaten for the first time this season on Tuesday - with this game in hand to play.
BAYERN XI (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer (c); Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Thiago Alcantara, Leon Goretzka; Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman; Robert Lewandowski
Bayern subs: Franck Ribery, Javi Martinez, Sven Ulreich, Sandro Wagner, Renato Sanches, Lars Lukas Mai, Rafinha
LEIPZIG XI (4-4-2): Peter Gulacsi; Lukas Klostermann, Ibrahima Konate, Dayotchanculle Upamecano, Marcel Halstenberg; Konrad Laimer, Diego Demme (c), Kevin Kampl, Bruma; Timo Werner, Yussuf Poulsen
Leipzig subs: Stefan Ilsanker, Matheus Cunha, Marius Muller, Erik Majetschak, Willi Orban, Jean-Kevin Augustin, Nordi Mukiele
The two teams are now out on the field at the Allianz Arena and we are moments away from kick-off. Dortmund's loss at Fortuna Dusseldorf on Tuesday has opened the Bundesliga title race back up, with both Bayern and Leipzig - nine and 11 points off top spot respectively - well positioned to pounce.
Leipzig have arguably edged things across the opening 45 minutes, but they have not done enough to truly warrant a half-time lead. The good news for Rangnick's side is that they trailed 2-0 and 3-0 at this point on their past two visits to face Bayern, and were also down to 10 men on both occasions, so it is still very much all to play for here in the second half.
A first half of two big chances at the Allianz Arena finishes goalless. Gulasci made a good save to deny Lewandowski from Bayern's best chance 25 minutes in, pushing the striker's low shot onto the post, while Upamecano guided a header against the crossbar at the other end of the field a little over 10 minutes later.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
Leipzig have now lost three away games in a row in the league and appear to be well out of the title picture ahead of their home match against Werder Bremen next Saturday. Bayern have won four matches on the spin, meanwhile, and could potentially be within three points of top spot heading into the winter break should they beat Eintracht Frankfurt and Dortmund lose to Borussia Monchengladbach this coming weekend.
